You Are Being Prepared For The Next Phase Of Your Life
There's magic happening beneath the surface

The process of growth is so confusing. We don’t recognize it in the beginning. It strips us of all understanding and drags us around in circles. One moment we are acting hostile. White fire torch through our veins, igniting the feeling of helplessness. Anger rises like swirling smoke filling the void in our chest. We are losing grip on reality.
The next moment, we are dealing with emotional overload. Like the movies, we transition from one scene to another. We stumble across the rough and dreary path of depression, unable to find our way out. Nothing makes sense.
How is life so unfair, treating us ever so wantonly, ripping our tender hearts apart? We crawl through the shadows, hoping to get a glimpse of the light. While life implores us not to lose hope, it assures us that the storm is inevitable. It comes at us like an uncontrollable beast intending to drown us in its monstrosity. No matter how we coerce, resist, or struggle, we can’t win.
Where do we seek justice for the wounds we have to bear? Where do we find the strength to stand up for what is right? Don’t we have a say over our own lives?
People tell us that pain is growth. It engulfs us like a protective cocoon. Despite feeling trapped, take caution that we do not fall into the trap of disillusionment. It eats away the hope for life. Adversity comes to expand and move us forward. But how are we supposed to know unless someone comes along and shows us we are going through the process of change?
When we go through confusing periods, it’s hard to associate the struggle with growth. While the storm rages, our soul dwells within a solitary space. Everything becomes futile, incoherent, and vague.
Anxiety rules and disrupts the schedule of our existence. We long to charge forth in pursuit of meaning and purpose, but something holds us back. An indistinct hesitation compels us to lie still and hold our breath. We feel it at the back of our throats, yet we are unsure what is happening or what to do next. We learn that some problems do not have instant solutions.
We spend tortured hours trying to escape the invisible prison holding us captive. Our minds brutalize our bodies. Every attempt to eat, breathe and think hurts. We want to take off in a sprint, but our feet refuse to budge. Have we given up? Of course not. We’re looking for an answer, a solution, a way out, but there isn’t any. We don’t know what to do, where to turn. Our bodies would rather lie down and vegetate.
During these long periods of uncertainty, something is taking place inside. Beat after beat, pulse after pulse; we fight to stay afloat in the spinning vacuum. We detach from the past by becoming one with all there is — the void. The terrors, shame, and pain that wrap around us gradually melt and disappear. With time, we give way to a solemn sense of surrender. Life takes on its natural course.
We awake in the dawn with a surge of energy passing through our being. In the dim background, we gain the strength to gather ourselves together and push forward. It becomes clear that everything is preparing us for the next phase of our lives. What’s coming may require a new level of personality, a new level of tenacity, and a new level of confidence.
The pain, the struggle, and losing our sense of direction are all about elevating us to new heights. We emerge spiritually, emotionally, and mentally larger than before. It is a test of endurance unlike any other. We may feel like we can’t make it, but if we stay the course, we’ll see that we can more than pass the test.
Of course, it isn’t a pleasant feeling at the moment, but we are not here for the ‘pleasant.’ At least not right now. We are here for growth. Those prolonged periods of waiting and holding on will finally make sense. The pressures do not come to hurt or discourage us. They come to ignite the flame that sits within us — the flickering blue flame of courage and boldness.
What about the scars? Well, they are a reminder that we survived our deepest wounds. Enduring heartaches, disappointments, and betrayal help us discover who we can become. As we detach from the pain of the past, we become better equipped to face the present.
Problems don’t come and disappear. They come to bring change and transformation, often into something more beautiful. It won’t be easy, but trust yourself. You’re more than able. And the process is well worth it.
